Just south of Thetford Forest you will find the small but charming Norfolk market town of Thetford.

An important Celtic tribe lived around there during the Iron Age and early Roman period, and in fact in the 1970s a 4th Century treasure hoard was discovered which is now on display in the British Museum.

In fact in Saxon and Medieval history, Thetford has also had some exciting roles too.
With a population of around 22,000 and just 86 miles from London lying on the London Road, and only 28 miles from Norwich, it is also a handily situated town.
