Holt is a small market town in the central north of the county of Norfolk, and is only 20miles from its capital of Norwich.
With AngloSaxon origins, the name Holt is believed to be derived from a Saxon word for woodland, it is even mentioned in the Domesday Book.
Despite being so historical, unfortunately in 1708 the town was destroyed by a devastating fire so most of the buildings date from the Georgian period, although a Norman church does remain.
Despite being a market town, the weekly market that dated back to the 11th century ceased in the 1960s.
However it is still a bustling place of trade and commerce with many commercial properties.
